GET IN TOUCHPIN Prestige magazine marked its 4th Anniversary with a ‘Quirky’ theme to celebrate bold visions and individual style. In a bold interpretation, &Larry created a logo based on ‘肆’, the Chinese character for ‘audacity’ and a homonym for ‘四’ or ‘4’. This set the stage for &Larry’s collaboration with Bynd Artisan, Sueki Ceramics and The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. to design and produce a series of celebratory items for the occasion.
What could be more audacious than to ask a renowned tea company to make a tea blend with coffee in it? Inspired by local beverage ‘Yuan Yang’, &Larry worked with The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. to create ‘Kopi +eh’, a smooth combination of fragrant black tea and robust coffee that lingers on the tongue and in the memory.
Complementing this one-off concoction is an equally unique Ootani mug designed by Sueki Ceramics exclusively for Faculty. Featuring a special graphite glaze resembling the texture of molten rock, no two mugs are the same in this limited edition run. With its rough exterior and smooth interior, the mug perfectly mirrors ‘Kopi +eh’ as a harmonious marriage of stark contrasts.
For PIN Prestige’s 4th Anniversary, &Larry has silkscreened the celebratory artwork in grey onto an A4 linen-thread sewn leather folder, an item from &Larry’s ‘Sign Of Our Times’ collaboration with Bynd Artisan. Inspired by the ubiquitous ‘DANGER–KEEP OUT!’ construction site warning sign, the capsule collection subtly incorporate the ‘warning’ as a blind-debossed typographic design, serving as a reminder to safekeep one’s belongings.
